In this guide you will learn:

  • What a remix project is
  • How the editor layout works
  • Track types and asset management
  • Subtitles, audio, and effects
  • Export and common issues

1. What is a remix project?

A remix project is LinghuiAI’s professional video editing mode. It gives you a multi-track timeline so you can freely combine video, audio, subtitles, and more into a complete production.

How it differs from AI short-drama creation:

ItemRemix ProjectAI Short Drama Creation
InputExisting video, audio, and image assetsScript + characters + storyboard
WorkflowManual editing and free compositionAI-generated video
Best forRe-editing, remix creation, and fine adjustmentsCreating an AI short drama from scratch
ControlFull manual control frame by frameAI-led with adjustable parameters

2. Editor layout overview

The remix editor uses a professional multi-pane layout:

3. Step-by-step workflow

1

Create or open a project

Open /av-editor, then click “New Project” and enter a project name. The system creates five default tracks automatically.

2

Upload assets

Use the upload button in the left asset panel. Supported formats include video (MP4/WebM/MOV), audio (MP3/WAV/OGG), and images (JPEG/PNG/WebP/GIF). Maximum size: 500MB per file.

3

Drag assets onto tracks

Drag each asset to the right track: video or image to the video track, music to the BGM track, and effects to the SFX track. The editor identifies asset types automatically.

4

Adjust clips

Move: drag the clip to a new position
Trim: drag either edge to change duration
Split: click the clip with the middle mouse button
Delete: select the clip and press Delete

5

Add subtitles

Add subtitles manually from the bottom subtitle panel or use AI subtitle generation to recognize speech from video or voice tracks. Font, color, position, and animation are adjustable.

6

Adjust audio

Use the audio control panel to set track volume (0-200%), fade-in and fade-out (0-10 seconds), plus mute and solo modes.

7

Add transitions and filters

Select a clip to apply 16 transitions such as fades, slides, and zooms, plus 8 filter presets including vivid, vintage, and black-and-white.

8

Preview the result

Use the play button or press Space to preview the timeline. All tracks stay in sync, and you can drag the playhead to any point.

9

Export the video

Choose format (MP4/WebM/MOV/GIF) and quality (720p/1080p/4K) in the export panel, then export. Export cost: 1 credit per second.

8. FAQ

Q: Which video formats are supported?

MP4, WebM, and MOV are supported. MP4 is recommended for the best compatibility.

Q: Is there a video length limit?

Each project supports up to 5 minutes of video. For longer work, split it into sections and combine them later.

Q: Which export quality options are available?

  • 720p (1280x720) best for social sharing
  • 1080p (1920x1080) high-definition and recommended
  • 4K (3840x2160) ultra-high-definition with larger files

Q: What if AI subtitles are inaccurate?

You can manually edit subtitles in the subtitle panel. Clear audio with less background noise improves accuracy.

Q: How do I adjust the volume of one track?

Each track in the audio control panel has an independent volume slider (0-200%) plus fade settings.

Q: Where is project data stored?

Project data is saved in the cloud so you can continue editing from any device after signing in. Asset files are uploaded to cloud storage.

Q: Does the editor support undo?

Yes. Up to 50 undo and redo steps are supported. Use Ctrl+Z to undo and Ctrl+Shift+Z to redo.

9. Notes

File size limit

Each asset file can be up to 500MB. If a video is too large, compress it before uploading.

Browser compatibility

The latest Chrome or Edge is recommended. Some features may be limited in Safari and Firefox.

Save regularly

Although the system autosaves, it is still safer to click Save after important edits.

Aspect ratio settings

Supported ratios include 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3, and 3:4. Choose it when creating the project because it cannot be changed later.
